WS Packaging Group to Expand Algoma Facility Operation in The US

US-based WS Packaging Group is all set to expand its Algoma facility operation in the US as part of a company-wide planning process, with an investment of $7.9m.

The three-year expansion includes new equipment and building upgrades to expand production and improve quality and will retain 45 positions, besides creating 20 new full-time positions at the location.

To assist in the expansion, the company will get up to $300,000 in tax credits through the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC).

WEDC secretary and CEO Reed Hall said, "We are pleased to assist WS Packaging in their investment to improve their operations and eventually provide new job opportunities in the community."

The group, which was formed from the merger of WI Label and Superior Label Systems, is a label and tag manufacturer.
