The Cooperative of American Physicians (CAP), a firm that manages the increasing costs of medical professional liability coverage, has expanded its CAPAssurance medical professional liability program to include large physician groups.
Earlier, the program was only used by California hospitals and medical facilities to access the superior professional liability protection and risk management services.
Now, all the members can use the CAPAssurance services like human resources support services, the CAPSource group purchasing program, and insurance services.
CAP CEO James L Weidner said that large, California-based physician medical groups need affordable medical professional liability protection in order to run successful practices, they have expanded the CAPAssurance Risk Purchasing Group to ensure these groups have more choices for the protection they require.
"As a California-based, physician-owned organization with extensive medical professional liability experience, CAP brings to bear the necessary expertise to meet the needs of this growing market segment," Weidner added.
CAP corporate strategy and business development senior vice president Cindy Belcher said for nearly 40 years, CAP has helped its member physicians minimize medical practice-related risks while at the same time delivering the highest quality legal support services.
"By expanding the reach of CAPAssurance, large physician medical groups now have access to this expertise," Belcher added.
