LED lighting is a growing trend in design circles with many people now regarding the energy efficiency and relative cheapness as far more important than the initial cost.
Indeed, LED lighting is used in a plethora of situations now from building blocks and houses to Christmas trees and design shows.
The energy efficient lights were on show earlier this month at the Clothes Show Live event, which took place at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham.
This event ran from December 7th to 11th and saw some of the world's best designers showing off their best lines, but it was the lighting system that really stole the show.
Lighting designer Nigel Catmur told L&Si that this was the smoothest and best executed production there has been in the five years since it began.
Previous shows have used LED walls as the stage backdrop but this time around there were eight different and very specific scenes showing a day in the life of a fashion editor, which benefited from a high level of projection detail and LED lighting.
"The level of scenic detail from the projection was stunning. Projection technology is getting better, brighter and simply more affordable," Mr Catmur added.
He added that the show was a multimedia production that also included an LED floor.
"The show is a multimedia production with LED wall, projection mapping and LED floor with content created by the brilliant Colin Rozee," the expert continued.
LED lights are increasingly being used not only as an energy efficient alternative but also a stylish one for companies and organisations.
Indeed, the Empire State Building recently showed off its LED lighting system at the top of the iconic landmark.
The tower is always illuminated and now visitors to the city will be able to see the real benefits of LED outdoor lights and how good they can look.
