Straus Family Creamery Announced That It Will Occur in New Packaging with Proposition 37

California-based Straus Family Creamery announced that it will come out in new packaging, with information in support of the California Right-to-Know Genetically Engineered Food Act, also known as Proposition 37.

All the reusable glass bottles and yogurt film will henceforth have a new message (under the lid) stating the company's opinion on genetically engineered (GE) foods: 'We all have a fundamental right to know what's in the food we eat and feed our children'

It will grab the eyeballs of about 50,000 people through its new bottles and yogurt containers, the company said.

Straus Family Creamery president Albert Straus said the opposition to Prop 37 likes to state that labeling is too costly for manufacturers and consumers.

"but we can show that we only spend a fraction of a cent per bottle to change the entire information on the back side of our milk bottles. We change our packaging several times a year, which is a planned expense. It has absolutely no effect on our bottom line or on the price to the consumer," said Strauss.

Founded in Straus Family Creamery primarily operates in the Dairy Product (except Frozen) Manufacturing Companies industry.
