UK-based corrugated cardboard maker DS Smith is set to showcase e-commerce packaging solutions at Deliver #2 event in Germany.
Deliver #2, which will take place on 27 and 28 June in Berlin, is an event that will bring together online platforms, retailers, logistics providers and packaging experts.
At the event, DS Smith will exhibit its DISCS and Made2fit e-commerce packaging solutions for the customers.
DISCS is named following different types of testing such as drop, impact, shock, crush and shake.
It is a patented system that includes five pieces of equipment, which helps to deliver right level of packaging performance with optimum material and reduce development time from four weeks to two days.
Made2fit solution is available in manual and automatic versions and allows e-retailers can safely and securely ship their products in packaging tailored for their product.
According to the company, the Made2fit solution enables customers to reduce their transport costs and packaging waste.
In June, DS Smith signed a conditional agreement to acquire a majority stake in US packaging firm Interstate Resources from Merpas for $920m.
DS Smith and its US subsidiary DS Smith Holdings have signed the deal to buy 80% of the total issued share capital of Indevco Management Resources, the holding company for the Interstate Resources group (IRI).
The IRI Group operates two paper mills for kraft linerboard and recycled corrugated medium, two timber and lumber operations, three corrugated container operations, three corrugated sheet plants, and one corrugated sheet feeder.
