China's production of sewing machines increased by 6.9 percent year on year to reach 17.06 million units in 2011, according to the estimates of China Sewing Machine Association. Among them, production of industrial sewing machines rose 10.7 percent to 9.68 million units and that of home sewing machines increased 2.9 percent year on year to 7.38 million units. Industrial sewing machines included 50,000 computer embroidery machines, representing an increase of 11.1 percent year on year.
