QBAS Tech, a Taiwan-based maker of LED lighting products, has fully occupied its eight existing production lines and, in order to meet growing orders, will expand its production capacity, according to the company.
QBAS has launched 8W LED light bulbs for sale through Family Mart convenience chain stores at NT$249 (US$8.3) in the Taiwan market and has entered the Singapore market, the company indicated. In the China market, QBAS has sold over 1,000 LED street lamps through sales agent Shanghai Tung Hsing Technology and began to sell LED light bulbs at retail stores in July, the company noted.
QBAS will increase monthly production capacity to 210,000 units of LED lighting products in August 2012 and further to 300,000 units at the end of the year, with LED bulbs ranging from 7W to 12W, the company pointed out. Because key components including power supplies, aluminum intrusion and driver ICs are developed in house, QBAS has a relatively high gross margin for its LED lighting products, the company said.
QBAS will raise additional paid-in capital of NT$250 million through issuing 5.0 million new shares for sale at NT$50 per share and plans to apply for listing on the local over-the-counter (OTC) bourse in the first quarter of 2013, the company indicated.
