Qualcomm has released the Snapdragon 400 and Snapdragon 200 processors for the mid-tier and entry level smartphone segments.
The Snapdragon 400 processors with CPU options are available with processing capacity of 1.7GHz per core, Asynchronous Symmetric Multiprocessing (aSMP) and Quad ARM Cortex-A7 CPUs running at about 1.4GHz per core.
Available with the Adreno 305 GPU that allows 3D gaming, the processor supports technologies including TDSCDMA, DC-HSPA+ (42Mbps), 1x Advanced, W+G CDMA, and multi-SIM capabilities of Dual SIM, Dual Standby (DSDS) and Dual SIM, Dual Active (DSDA)
The processor has LPDDR2 or LPDDR3 RAM (Low Power Double Data Rate) Fast RAM and supports the camera, audio, 1080p video capture and playback, and the Miracast- a wireless technology that streams content from mobile devices to an HDTV.
The Snapdragon 200 processors come with Quad ARM Cortex-A5 CPUs running up to 1.4GHz per core, Hexagon QDSP5, Adreno 203 GPU and LPDDR 2 RAM, while it supports HD video playback, CDMA multimode/UMTS modem options, Dual Sim Dual Standby and Up to 8 Megapixel camera.
Snapdragon 800 and 600 processors are meant for premier and high end smartphones, tablets and mobile computing devices.
