Greiner Packaging creates resealable barrier packaging for Neoplanta's meat and fish pates

Greiner Packaging International has created new resealable barrier packaging for Serbian brand Neoplanta’s Patelina meat and fish patés, which were earlier packed in aluminum containers or cans.

When the products were packaged in aluminum containers, they had to be consumed immediately after opening the packaging.

According to the packaging firm, the new packaging makes it possible to reseal and preserve it in several stages, and has been created for launch in Southeastern Europe markets.

The resealable cups for Patelina meat and fish patés serve as barrier packaging, which holds 90g of content.

The packaging also prevents the contents from drying out and is said to provide protection against oxidation as new plastic material combinations and production technology were used to create it.

Greiner Packaging International Division K head Kenneth Boldog said, "This packaging solution sets new standards in Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro and Macedonia. Its properties fit consumer needs like a glove."

Greiner Packaging used thermoform technology to produce the cups and injection molding to create the lids.

Neoplanta has been a part of Nelt since 2007, and its product line includes 85 different deli products, produced by around 700 employees.

According to Greiner Packaging, at present eight types of paté including ham, salmon, liver, chicken, chicken with herbs, turkey, tuna, and tuna with corn are available.
