China Recalled over 3.2 Million Vehicles in 2012

 

On January 29, China's State General Administration of Quality Supervision & Inspection issued statistics that in 2012, China implemented 113 recalls, totally recall 3,203,000 defective vehicles, achieving a 75.3% year-on-year growth. Defective auto product recall information management system received a total of 9,640 complaints on automotive products, an increase of 9%.

Among all complaints, power train had 3,449 cases, ranks first, accounting for 35.78%; engine was followed, a total of 2,065 cases, accounting for 21.42%; electrical and electronic complaints were 987, accounting for 10.24%, ranked third. In all cases received hotline 12365, number of car and car accessories increased rapidly, an increase of 18% over the previous year.

On the contrary, by the end of 2012, there were 4,491 automobile manufacturing companies in China, including 3,551vehicle manufacturers and 940 modified car manufacturing companies. But only 331 manufacturers completed car recall information for the record in AQSIQ defective product management center. Some brand cars never implemented related recalls since entering the market.
