Toluene market showed downward trend in Asia, but surged up in Europe, whereas it was steady in US in the previous week ending September 29.
Toluene prices went down in Korea due to decreased downstream demand and lower upstream product prices. In the initial days of the last week, prices were at US$ 1180/ton down US$ 20/ton from its previous week. In China, Toluene prices were assessed at US$ 1210/ton CFR China.
Speculators assessed spot prices in the range of US$ 1175-1180/ton FOB Korea. In Japan, Toluene prices showed similar trend and were assessed in the range of US$ 1195-1200/ton CFR Japan. In S.E. Asia, prices were witnessed in the range of US$ 1215-1220/ton CFR S.E. Asia.
In Europe, Toluene prices went up due to limited regional availability. In the initial days of the reporting week, prices were spotted at US$ 1445/ton higher by US$ 45/ton, as compared to the same period of its previous week.
Prices were witnessed in the range of US$ 1425-1445/ton FOB Rotterdam during the week. Contract prices for September settled at US$ 1260-1305/ton FOB NWE.
Prices were stable in US. In the initial days of the week, prices were at 420 (cents/gallon) slightly lower as compared to the previous week. Prices were in the range of 420-425 (cents/gallon) FOB US.
