US-based plastic products manufacturer CTC Plastics has added a 92 millimeter co-rotating twin screw compounding machine to its ISO 9001 and ISO/EIC 17025 certified facility in Dayton, Ohio.
This addition will help the company to provide customers with advanced toll compounding, which will in turn help to enhance its services in formulating, blending and testing.
The compounding machine comes with two rotating assemblies. This feature enables the machine to perform a higher mixing action, thereby allowing the company to compound higher percentages to fill a given compound.
The addition also enables the company to get an additional compounding capacity of 25 million pounds annually. This will allow the firm to support additional business in key markets including automotive, construction, housewares, lawn and garden, retail, and consumer goods.
The twin screw machine is equipped with a 420 HP motor, and comes with a L/D ratio of 48:1. The machine's approximate throughput for compounding a mineral such as talc and calcium is 2,200 pounds per hour. The machine also comes with a single or double side feed of mineral introduction into the line and enables CTC to change screw configuration in order to meet any thermoplastic demand.
CTC Plastics, founded in 1994, is a wholly owned subsidiary of a privately-owned multinational company Soin International.
