New OnePlus Phone to Be The OnePlus 3T?

Tags: OnePlus, Phone

OnePlus has been rumoured to be working on a newly upgraded version of the OnePlus 3 for a month or two, and now we've got another revelation to add to the pile.

Previously, a report from GizmoChina suggested the Chinese firm was preparing a new version of its flagship phone, set to be called either the OnePlus 3S or OnePlus 3 Plus.

But now, a designer for the company has taken to Chinese social media site Weibo, publishing a post (since deleted) from a device identified as the OnePlus 3T.

The OnePlus 3

Yes, it seems the upcoming phone will be called the 3T, perhaps for Turbo, instead of the 3S or 3Plus, if the Weibo post is anything to go by.

Whereas the OnePlus 3 came with a Snapdragon 820, the 3T is expected to arrive with an upgraded processor, likely to be Qualcomm's newer Snapdragon 821.

And while previous rumours suggested OnePlus was preparing to do away with the AMOLED tech it used in the 3's screen, CEO Carl Pei has since dismissed such rumours, as the following tweet shows:

A device, thought to be the '3T', with model number A3010 passed through the China Compulsory Certification last week, receiving a 3C certification.

Whether there'll be any other substantial upgrades when the phone launches remains unclear, with the OnePlus 3 already packing a whopping 6GB RAM on some models, along with other top-end features.

We'll have more in the near future, so stay tuned.
