Healthcare packaging supplier in the UK-based Benson Group, Medica Packaging has installed a new leaflet folder from Horizon for the post-press department of its Crewe factory.
The new Horizon AF406T6A Digital Folder, which joins similar equipment range in the patient information leaflet (PIL) folding area of finishing at the company, is focused on intelligent automation.
With a six-plus-six buckle fold configuration, the machine provides flexibility.
Medica Packaging operations manager Tim Standing said the purchase of the AF406T6A gives its salesforce an opportunity to increase its existing leaflet production business and will be the future within the pharmaceutical leaflet sector.
"The machine could accommodate the wide variety of sizes going from standard to miniature, with a super quick change-over time when moving from job to job," Standing added.
The machine's advanced automation capabilities provide for short make-ready times and reduced paper waste as well as energy consumption.
It also uses steel and polyurethane combination rollers to provide for easy adjustment of the roller gap pressure to achieve folds as small as 20mm.
