Packaging Manufacturer Seda UK Is All Set to Invest 18m Over The Next Five Years

Packaging manufacturer Seda UK is all set to invest 18m over the next five years, as part of a major expansion program at its Blackwood facility. The investment is being supported with 5.4m business finance from the Welsh Government.

The Blackwood facility produces paper cups, containers and plastic lids for hot and cold drinks and dairy products, as well as folding cartons.

Economy Minister Edwina Hart said the company has continued to invest and expand in Wales with support from the government since it moved to the region in 2004.

"This new project will safeguard and create a significant number of jobs over the next five years," Hart said.

Seda UK will purchase new plant and machinery and set up an additional manufacturing unit in a bid to address the growing demand for its range of products.

According to the company, which is a subsidiary of Seda International Packaging Group, the new project enables it to meet existing and future contracts and will consolidate the proposals the group has to the Wales operation.
