Coca-Cola Plans to Expand Its Smartwater Bottled Water Portfolio

US-based beverage manufacturer Coca-Cola plans to expand its Smartwater bottled water portfolio with the opening of a new bottling and distribution facility in Milwaukee with an investment of about $30m.

Located at Brown Deer Road on the northwest side of Milwaukee, the new facility will be the company's fifth production site for Smartwater in North America.

Coca-Cola Refreshments manufacturing and supply chain director Bryant Lewis said, "With this investment in our Milwaukee operations, Coca-Cola is creating new jobs for today, while ensuring a bright future for our already substantial operations in Wisconsin."

The new facility is expected to complete its construction by April 2014.

Currently, Coca-Cola operates 14 facilities in Wisconsin that offer employment to about 1,000 workers.
