In the third quarter of 2011 the Canadian OSB manufacturer Ainsworth Lumber was unable to pursue its impressive increases in turnover recorded overseas between January and June. Between July and September turnover generated overseas declined by 15% compared with the previous year and by 46% compared with the previous quarter to Can$11.6m (July-Sept. 2010: 13.7m). The company considers this development to be due to the decline in demand from Japan. There had been a massive increase in demand here in connection with the reconstruction measures immediately following the natural catastrophe in March 2011.
