The Problem of Confinement Odour Could Be Solved by an Odour-absorbing Label

An odour-absorbing label could solve the problem of confinement odour and cut returns for retailers selling packaged meats, seafood, poultry and even vegetables.

Innovative food packaging development company Sirane has launched a cost-effective new 'patch' which solves the problem of food smelling off when the pack is opened.

The Dri-Fresh Fresh-Hold labels are a small patch - which can be almost hidden if need be - that attract and absorb the organic vapours which produce the unpleasant odours.

Simon Balderson, Sirane MD, said: "Perfectly good food can often be rejected by consumers as a result of odours - even though the food is actually perfectly okay.

"It is simply the odour build-up. This unique product traps all the odours from within the pack, meaning that when they customer opens it up it smells as fresh as when packed.

"Our Dri-Fresh Fresh-Hold OA labels are a simple - and cost-effective - solution to the problem of confinement odour, and can save retailers significant amounts of money."

The odour-absorbing patch can easily be integrated with any type of packaging - be it pads, bags, films or cartons/trays - and can be customised to meet specific requirements.

It is available in a number of formats, including reel format for easy application.

Sirane is an innovative food packaging development-to-manufacture company based in the UK with an ever-growing reputation in products offering shelf-life extension.
