Rudolph Foods is all set to shift its Lima packaging production department to other production facilities over the next six months.
According to the company, its decision to shift packaging production was made after considering worldwide customer and consumer needs and food safety will be improved by refocusing the Lima plant solely on pellet pork rind production, limaohio.com reported.
The work, which is being transferred to facilities in Dallas, Texas, Lawrenceville, Georgia and New Hebron, Mississippi, is expected to be completed by 2013.
Rudolph's corporate offices, pellet manufacturing and product development will be retained in Lima.
Rudolph Foods president Rich Rudolph commenting on the move said "Lima is a great part of our heritage, and we value and appreciate the community and the people for decades of service and support that continue."
