In its quarterly report, the Canadian company Norbord states that it will shut down production at its OSB plant in Val d‘Or, Québec, at the end of July 2012 for an indefinite period. The shutdown is intended to improve the liquidity and results situation of Norbord in North America. The company reports that the plant had already been producing on a restricted basis during the last five years on account of continuing weak demand from the building industry.
