Toshiba to Close Its Four Production LED Lighting Products Factory in Japan

Toshiba's lighting equipment unit(Toshiba Lighting & Technology) 11,issued a press release announced that in order to enhance cost competitiveness,the plan earlier this year (beforethe end of March 2013)to close its four production LED lighting products factory.TheTLT total has seven factoriesin Japan.

TLT said that the plan to close the object of the Nagai factories(mainly produces LED bulbs andspecial purpose incandescent bulbs),Tsukuba factory(the main production of residential lighting fixtures),Ibaraki factory(the main production lighting with metal parts /resin parts Yamagata factory mainly produces lighting power supply circuit).

TLT pointed out that the four plant closures, its capacity will be moved to Kanuma factory and production facilities in the Mainland",HarrySheng Dongzhi lighting(Kunshan).According to the Nikkei reported, in order to improve cost competitiveness in the future TLTJapanese factory mainly produces special order products,then moved to the mainland of China productionAs for the general lighting products.Nikkei said, TLT programin 2014,revenue increased to 260 billion yen(2011 annual revenue of 193.6 billion yen).
