Mobile devices will be able to charge up to 40% faster.
Qualcomm has unveiled the Quick Charge 1.0 that can reduce the charging time of devices such as smartphones, tablets and mobile phones.
The company claimed that the phones featuring the Quick Charge 1.0 can charge up to 40% faster than older phones.
Qualcomm obtained the technology with the acquisition of Summit Microelectronics in June 2012.
The technology can be used by installing it into devices with existing USB charging accessories.
The company offers the technology as an integrated application of the power management integrated circuit (PMIC) and a standalone application that links to the USB connector.
The Quick Charge 1.0 will be available with over 70 Snapdragon-based devices including the Droid DNA by HTC, Samsung Galaxy S III, Nokia Lumia 920, Asus Padfone and LG Nexus 4.
