Innovia Films has supplied its compostable cellulose-based material, NatureFlex NVR to French company, Les Jardins de Ga a to pack its organic teas range in individual sachets.
According to Innovia, new packaging designs differentiate the Fair Trade, organic tea company's teas from other designs available on the market.
Innovia Films market developer Neil Banerjee said the company assisted Les Jardins de Ga a through German converter TPS in realizing its sustainability goals.
"Alongside the environmental benefits, NatureFlex films also offer a host of advantages for packing and converting such as inherent dead fold and anti-static properties, high gloss and resistance to grease and oil, good barrier to gases, aromas and mineral oils, a wide heat-seal range and easy opening," Banerjee added.
NatureFlex film begins life as a natural product - wood - and breaks down at the end of its lifecycle in a home compost bin within a matter of weeks.
The film is also said to be suitable for emerging 'waste to energy' techniques such as anaerobic digestion.
