BGF has invested £5m in packaging manufacturer Plastique

BGF, a UK-based independent firm that helps Britain’s smaller and medium sized businesses, has invested £5m in packaging manufacturer Plastique.

The investment will allow Plastique to expand its Polish facility to accommodate new manufacturing equipment and to grow its core plastics and thermoformed pulp business.

According to the company, the facility will be expanded to 7,300m2.

The deal, however, will also allow BGF to secure a stake in the packaging company.

Plastique managing director John Lowe said the BGF's involvement will allow them to go further and faster.

"With an investment of growth capital into the company, we can significantly improve our already profitable business over the coming years without losing control of what we have worked hard to build as team," Lowe added.

Based out of Tunbridge Wells, Plastique designs and manufactures thermoformed packaging for personal care, household products, pharmaceutical, food and retail industries.

The company, which was established in the year 1979, generates £25m revenues a year from its three sites located in Tunbridge Wells, Nottingham as well as Poland.
