D. Canale & Co, a US-based food and beverage wholesaler, has announced plans to establish a new spirits distillery and public tasting room in Downtown Memphis.
The proposed Old Dominick distillery and tasting room will see an investment of around $5m.
To be designed and constructed by LRK and Archer Custom Builders respectively, the facility will produce and bottle a wide range of distilled spirits, when operational in 2015.
Additionally, the company is expected to employ around 35 full and part-time workers at the facility.
D. Canale & Co president Chris Canale said that the company is entering into the area that is considered to be its home, with a new distillery.
"With this new venture, we are restoring and deepening our commitment to this great city in a major way," added Canale.
