French car maker PSA Peugeot-Citroen is planning to unveil the new Numero 9 hybrid concept at the Beijing Auto Show in China this month.
Citroen said that the new concept is expected to join the D-segment executive saloon which will be called the DS9, while will also be offered as a C-segment premium sedan and an SUV.
The new hybrid will be powered by a 70hp and 200Nm rear axle-mounted electric motor with a lithium-ion battery and a 1.6 THP petrol engine which will generate 225bhp and a torque of 275Nm.
According to Citroen, the new hybrid will accelerate from 0-100km/h in 5.4 seconds and can reach the highest speed of about 244km/h while consuming a 1.7l per 100km and will emit CO2 of about 39 g/km.
Numero 9 also features a new micro-hybrid technology which will switch the combustion engine to standby mode whenever it is not required.
The electric motor can be recharged in 3 ? hours from a normal domestic socket, which will facilitate the concept to operate in all-electric rear-wheel-drive mode for about 50km.
