AstroNova has developed new label printer, QL-111, for industrial, commercial, warehouse and manufacturing/distribution facilities.
Available from QuickLabel Systems, the QL-111 color label printer is designed to label all types of cartons and packaging.
QuickLabel Systems vice-president and general manager Eric Pizzuti said: "The new QL-111 responds to our customers' requests for an industrial color label printer capable of meeting the high throughput and JIT requirements for secondary product packaging labels.
"This exciting new product fits easily into a work cell or alongside a production line, while delivering color coding and accurate barcodes demanded in secondary labeling applications."
Capable of producing secondary labels with variable color to enable products identification such as footwear, hardware, electrical products and lighting components, the printer can consistently deploy labels with near zero lead time.
The system can print on blank stock from four individual CMYK high-capacity dye ink cartridges to allow minimal user intervention.
AstroNova said that the QL-111 printer produces short-run, complete color labels including expiration dates, lot codes, batch codes, barcodes, serialization, and images.
Additionally, the printer can print labels at 600 dots per inch and a throughput of 8 inches/second.
It can be connected and controlled easily by external systems including automatic label applicators, barcode verification systems and visual inspection systems, the firm said.
