Paper-based packaging company Smurfit Kappa has introduced the 'Shelf-Facer' that can increase the visibility of products on shelves by about 50%.
According to the company, tests have confirmed the advantages of Shelf-Facer that can pull products to the front of shelf-ready packaging.
This helps in improving shelf presentation and allows brands to take complete advantage of in-store marketing opportunities.
The Irish company has launched the new solution after its shopper marketing white paper 'Marketing on the Shelf - exactly how in control are you?' found that although 76% of purchase decisions are made by shoppers in-store, brands often fail to capitalize on the opportunity it represents.
The Shelf-Facer has been designed to meet this challenge which ensures that a product is easy for consumers to find.
Once a product is purchased, it is immediately replaced by another which helps in enhancing brand visibility and increasing sales.
Smurfit Kappa senior vice president innovation Arco Berkenbosch said: "After a great deal of testing and research, we are confident the Shelf-Facer will prove an important new tool that will help brands sell more of their products in-store.
"We understand the importance of grabbing consumer attention at the point of purchase and, in line with our ongoing commitment to maximise value for our business partners, we are pleased to have created a product that is proven to drive commercial success."
Smurfit will launch the Shelf-Facer at the company's innovation event on 15 April that will be held in the Netherlands.
