There's a lot of hype around LED lighting for the home,and rightly so,since it can provide year after year of energy efficient illumination for an affordable cost.
In fact,would you believe that after you've installed an LED bulb,you might not need to think about changing it for another two decades?
Even in a business environment where the lights are switched on for long periods of time,they can last for ten or more years without needing to be changed.

"An LED bulb will pay for itself in terms of investment purely on replacement value and cost,"said Omar Ibrahim,managing director at environmental and waste management company Ensys Technologies.
"In terms of a provable investment,they are a win-win situation,albeit LEDs are at the moment considerably more expensive as an initial investment."
But prices have come down over the years,so there is every reason to believe that they will continue to decline as LEDs become more widespread.
So where is the best place to use them in your home?Well,they're suitable for any room really,even outdoors in your garden or at the entrance to your property.
LED bathroom lights can work particularly well,giving off bright task lighting where it's needed,such as in the shower cubicle-in the case of IP68 or IP44 rated lights-or above the sink.
You can also purchase LED bathroom mirror lights which as well as make shaving,washing and applying make-up easier by illuminating shadowy spots can also act as a pretty focal point in your bathroom.
