German industry for the production of glass containers notes a positive trend. In the first half of this advantage was very small, but in the third quarter, the trend has intensified, and in general, for the first nine months of this year released in Germany glass (in tonnes) increased by 1.4% compared with the same period last year.
The data for the current year issued a proactive industry group "Aktionsforum Glasverpackung", founded in 2000 The group includes a total of 13 companies producing glass containers and packaging in Germany. It's 35 factories and employs around 9,000 people.
Sales of glass bottles has increased by 1.1%. The leaders were bottles in the segments' water / lemonade "(plus 8.2%) and" wine "(plus 5.9%). The exceptions were beer glass bottles, the volume of here fell 4.4%. In the first half of glass containers for food (fruit and vegetable preserves, pickles) showed a negative trend (- 1.5%), but for the first nine months showed a plus of 0.2%. But the packaging in baby food showed a plus 18.4%.
In the segment of glass containers and packaging for the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and chemical-technical applications, as well as containers for the beverage industry with up to 150 ml saw an increase in sales from January to September 2013 by 7.5%. The achievement of this result contributed to an increase in sales of pharmaceutical packaging abroad (+ 17.1%), as well as cosmetic packaging within the country (+ 7.2%).
