Liquid packaging specialist Aran Packaging is expanding its manufacturing presence to the US with the establishment of a new facility in Greer, South Carolina.
The proposed facility will see an investment of around $5.2m and it will create 63 new jobs in the next five years.
Expected to become operational by July 2016, the new plant will allow the company to better serve its customers across the US.
The Greer plant will be an addition to Aran's existing facilities in Israel and Valladolid, Spain.
Aran Packaging CEO Lior Mor said: "A testament to Aran's vision for growth and innovation, we are excited to be expanding into the US market and, specifically, into South Carolina.
"Because of its geographic location, an excellent business atmosphere and superb workforce, we believe that South Carolina is the ideal spot for us to open our first US facility."
South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley said: "It's always a great day in South Carolina when we can celebrate new investment in our state, but it's especially exciting when it's an international firm that has decided to open up its first US operations here."
Founded in 1983, Aran currently employs 180 workers and cater to companies in over 40 countries across the world.
The Israel-based packaging firm offers advanced packaging solutions using aseptic and bag-in-box technologies for both the food and non-food industries.
Aran's bags for the bag-in-box application are available in 2 liter to 1800 liter sizes.
South Carolina Department of Commerce Secretary Bobby Hitt said: "Foreign Direct Investment is a critical element of South Carolina's economic development strategy, and we are thrilled that Aran has decided to join the more than 1,200 international firms that have decided that South Carolina is 'Just right' for business."
