The Good Trend of The Turkish Processing Industry Has Been Confirmed

On the occasion of the recent meetings held by ASSOCOMAPLAST Secretariat with the main industrial Associations in the country, the good trend of the Turkish processing industry has been confirmed. Macro-economic data are definitely positive, starting from GDP that in 2012 is expected to reach 6-7% (the only variable to keep under control is the inflation at 10% but this is partly due to such a rapid expansion). Considering the plastics sector, an average annual growth rate between 10 and 15% has been registered in the last five years. In terms of value, the production of raw materials, semi-finished and finished products amounts to approximately 20 billion dollars (7 million tons in volume). Today, Turkey is the third European producer, behind Germany and Italy but ahead of France, Spain and United Kingdom. The plastics per-capita consumption is nearly 70 Kg and is rapidly approaching the average of the most industrialized countries (over 100 kg). Source: Assocomaplast. com
