Global chemical company BASF is set to expand manufacturing capabilities at its US plants in Wyandotte, Michigan, and Monaca, Pennsylvania, in a bid to support customer growth in the packaging, printing and industrial coating markets.

At the plants, the company plans to expand capabilities for products marketed under the trade name Joncryl.

According to BASF, the investments are expected to provide additional capacity and operational flexibility as it continues to invest in emulsion polymer and resin manufacturing facilities.

BASF North America Dispersions and Pigments senior vice president Derek Fairclough said "The decision to make these investments, while optimizing our manufacturing footprint to our largest and most modern facilities, demonstrates our continued commitment to our customers and growth in the North America region."

The Dispersions & Pigments Division offers a portfolio of resins, binders, latex, pigments and effect pigments, colorants, and systems to meet application needs for the printing, packaging, coatings and construction markets.
