More than 1,300 LED troffers from Cree have been installed in a refurbishment of NASA's headquarters in Washington DC.
The CR22 architectural LED troffers, which are dimmable and digitally controlled, could help to deliver energy savings of 52 per cent compared to the T8 fluorescent fixtures they replaced, according to Cree.
Featuring integrated Lutron EcoSystem dimming technology, the CR22 troffers are controlled by a Lutron Quantum lighting control system and light levels can be fine-tuned individually in each fixture.
A further 5,200 CR22 troffers will be fitted at a later date to complete the lighting upgrade in the building.
