Packaging firm Delta Packaging plans to open a new 10,000m2 production facility in Katowice, Poland.
Katowice facility will house rotary flexographic and sheet-fed lithographic printing technologies, in-line functional barrier coating and gluing and finishing options.
Earlier this year, the company has announced a 40m investment, which will involve the building of the factory in Gliwice, near Katowice, reports foodproductiondaily.com
Gliwice factory will produce sustainable, folding cartonboard packaging products for the retail food, food service, beverage, confectionery, household goods and electronic consumer product sectors.
This factory is expected to commence operations by the end of 2015.
Delta Packaging chairman Terry Cross was quoted by the publication as saying that currently around 95% of firm's business is delivered outside of Northern Irish manufacturing base.
"The UK, Scandinavia, France, India, Belgium, Spain, the Netherlands and Portugal are key markets but it is envisaged this development will service clients in Central/Eastern Europe," Cross added.
Delta Packaging, which was founded in 1981, produces packaging for dairy, cereals, prepared meals, biscuits, confectionery, meat and ice cream sectors.
The company's client base includes brands such as McDonald's, Kelloggs, KFC, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Greiner Packaging and Kerry Foods.
