Aleddra LED lighting announces today that EPCO (Engineered Products Company) T8 retrofit kits can be used with Aleddra EasiRetrofit LED T8 tubes for retrofit projects involving 8-ft T12 strip fixtures to T8 LED lamps. EPCO requires that the LED T8 must be UL 1598C classified in order not void any warranty. Under the UL 1598C there is a weight requirement of the tube, which an 8-ft LED T8 will not meet. This means it is impossible to have UL 1598C approved 8-ft LED T8. As a result, when retrofitting 8-ft T12 fixtures, it is necessary to use the EPCO T8 conversion kit or completely replace the fixture. The kit allows the installer to easily convert T12 fixture to two 4-ft LED T8 in tandem.
The EPCO T8 Retrofit Conversion Kits that support Aleddra EasiRetrofit LED are:

Per EPCO specifications, these designated retrofit conversion kit part numbers fitted with “non-shunted” lamp holders are suitable for use with linear LED engines (T5 and T8 shaped LED tubes) as long as the LED engine is classified per UL 1598C.
