Alpla India, a producer of plastic packaging products, has established its first technology center valued at INR200m ($3.2m) at its Pashmylaram facility in Andhra Pradesh.
The company has invested about INR1.5bn ($24.2m) in its facility, located in Hyderabad, over the last two years.
The new center will focus on complete range of offerings, including ideation developing customized product package design solutions and testing.
Alpla India hopes to achieve turnover of INR4bn in 2013, primarily from tube products, launched recently with bi-injection method and other PET bottles and caps.
In India, the company operates through a network of five plants. Three are located in Baddi (Himachal Pradesh); and one each in Sitarganj (Uttarakhand) and Hyderabad.
Alpla now operates seven technology centers globally including its new Pashmylaram center.
