UK-based paint manufacturer Little Greene Paint Company has adopted the 'Widely Recycled at Local Council Recycling Centers' label on its metal paint cans.
Developed by the Ardagh Group, the metal cans are claimed to be produced using a 100% recyclable steel.
The company primarily used the labels on its new 10l metal paint cans and will later on apply the logo to its all pack sizes.
Little Greene Paint Company managing director David Mottershead said the company has been passionate about being as environmentally-aware as possible.
"To use tins made from recycled materials, which can in turn be recycled themselves, is something of which we are extremely proud and we are delighted that this is now being recognised through the 'Widely Recycled at Local Council Recycling Centres' logo - and that we are the first UK paint manufacturer to embrace it!" Mottershead added.
The introduction of label follows standards specified by the British Retail Consortium (BRC) with technical support from Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP).
