India-based plastic processing company Supreme Industries is opening a PVC pipe and packaging facility in the state of West Bengal this year.
This is part of its strategy to increase capital spending by one-third to INR2bn ($33.27m), reports Plastic News.
The company intends to put majority of the capital spending on the new facility, which will be built at Kharagpur and become operational by the second half of next year.
A company spokesperson was quoted by Plastic News as saying: "The forthcoming Bengal plant is the 24th unit of Supreme Industries, which would initially produce 25,000 tonnes plus PVC pipe and fittings and 10,000 tonnes of protective packaging.
"The capacity would be raised over a period of time depending upon the market demand."
Supreme Industries, a Mumbai-based company,
reported a net turnover of INR11.5bn, registering a 9% growth from the previous year.
The company also plans to expand the capacity of protective packaging at Hosur and Malanpur.
Further, Supreme intends to install an energy-efficient injection molding equipment at its facilities in Jalgaon and Malanpur.
