Enso Plastics Has Announced Two New Biodegradable Technologies for Philippines Market

US-based plastics solutions provider Enso Plastics has announced two new biodegradable technologies, Enso Renew and Enso Restore, for the Philippines market.

The new solutions have been launched in a bid to help manufacturers comply with the Makati City Ordinance No 2003-095, which bans the use, sale and distribution of plastics that are non-biodegradable.

Renewable thermo polymer (RTP) Enso Renew has been derived from the waste process of agriculture and has a carbon footprint of 75% lower compared to polyethylene.

The high heat biopolymer, which provides home and industrial compostability as well as being marine degradable, is designed to meet the needs of applications looking for renewable solutions.

According to the company, manufacturers are also able to blend the polymer with traditional plastics for durable partially renewable solutions.

Claimed to be the latest development of biodegradable additives, Enso Restore offers improvements to biodegradable performance and process-ability/compatibility and eliminates the historical higher scrap rates of competing additives.

The additive accelerates the natural biodegradation without any disruption to disposal method or performance and works with light weighted packaging, thin film applications.

It also works with heavier injection molded parts in all major resin types such as PE, PP, PET, PS, Rubber, Nitrile, polyurethane, among others, the company said.
