Stora Enso has signed a co-operation agreement with Chalmers' Encubator to develop intelligent pharmaceutical packaging as well as act as a partner to Encubator.
Under the collaboration, Encubator will develop the business together with Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship while Stora Enso will generate new ideas.
Stora Enso renewable packaging executive vice president Mats Nordlander said, "Forming a dedicated team will create an environment that can enable successful market entry and create a growth company."
The project will develop intelligent pharmaceutical packaging to meet the problems associated with poor compliance to prescription instructions by patients.
The package simplifies communication between patient and doctor by registering when pills are removed from the package as well as transmits a reminder wirelessly.
Encubator business developer Linnea Olsson said", "The collaboration with Stora Enso is an example of how innovations can develop through partnership between young entrepreneurs and established companies."
Encubator is a Chalmers incubator that exploits ideas by collaborating advanced entrepreneurship education with real business incubation.
