Adpak Machinery Systems has unveiled a new packaging system for food and drink manufacturers.
The new machine, Smipack XP650 ALX-T, has been designed to sort and arrange collations of products before overwrapping and heat shrinking the pack.
It can also automatically form and glue cardboard trays or insert cardboard pads beneath the products before being wrapped. This can ensure safety and security of the products, while they are being transported.
The new machine is claimed to have a production capacity of up to 25 packs per minute and can manage trays of sizes ranging from 150 x 60 mm minimum and 500 x 320 mm maximum. This, as per Adpak is an optimal solution wrapping tinned food, bottles or drinks containers.
The company says that this option can be utilised not just by the food and drinks industry, but by producers in cosmetics and chemical industry as well.
Adpak sales office manager Amanda Jenkins said: “The Smipack XP650 ALX-T offers food and drink manufacturers increased capacity and speed by automating the formation and gluing of a secure cardboard tray as part of the product collation and packaging process.
“We’ve seen substantial demand for other Smipack overwrappers from food and drink suppliers and it has been our most popular system at PPPMA Total Show for the last two years. Consequently we’re expecting high demand from UK and Ireland food and drink manufacturers.”
Last year in October, Adpak showcased several of its products at The Print Show 2016, held at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.
The company had showcased its range of Smipack chamber machines and semi-automatic L sealing machines that are compact and easy to operate. These printers are claimed to be ideal for commercial printers and in-house print rooms for large businesses.
