Packaging solutions provider Georgia-Pacific (GP) Corrugated has acquired Southern California-based Reliable Container, for undisclosed amount.
The deal also includes Reliable Container's converting plants in Santa Fe Springs, California, and Tijuana, Mexico.
Employing 250 employees, Reliable Container is engaged in providing custom corrugated containers and point-of-purchase displays.
It also offers consultation, design and inventory services for food and beverage, consumer products, auto, electronics, fabricated metal products and services industries.
GP Corrugated president Billy Medof said: "Georgia-Pacific has had a working relationship with Reliable Container for many years and now welcomes them as part of our organization, expanding our capability and geographic reach in the important Southern California and Baja region.
"With this acquisition and following the conversion of our La Mirada sheet feeder to a state-of-the-art box plant, we will serve customers in Southern California and Northern Mexico with a box plant, two sheet plants, and through our interest in the GoldenCorr sheet feeder."
The deal is a part of the Georgia-Pacific's plan to expand corrugated packaging business while improving operations and optimizing packaging.

Georgia-Pacific Corrugated offer a range of products and services which include CubeLogic Greenshield, Color-Box Litho-Corr and Brand Ready Packaging.
