Innovator Ivera Has Received a Contract From The Healthtrust to Provide Disinfecting Caps

Medical device innovator Ivera has received a contract from the HealthTrust to provide disinfecting caps for IV needleless connectors, beginning 2 February 2013.

Passive disinfection cap, Curos Port Protector assures better visibility compliance with hospital infection control protocols, while its design reduces spillage of potential alcohol and packaging waste.

The green cap disinfects and then guards luer activated swabbable valves against contamination between venous accesses.

A 70% isopropyl alcohol (IPA) saturated sponge inside the cap continually bathes the port to kill the organisms associated with catheter-related bloodstream infections.

According to Ivera, the disinfection technology has been designed to act against the organisms associated with catheter-related bloodstream infections.

US-based HealthTrust Purchasing Group supports nearly 1,400 not-for-profit and for-profit acute care facilities, as well as ambulatory surgery centers, physician practices and alternate care sites.
