According to the data from Peruvian customs agency Sunat, the imported rebar rose more than three times from previous month to 21,052 metric tonnes in November.
The country imported 253,056 tonnes of long products from January to November.
In October, the value was USD 4.7 million, compared to USD 12.6 million in November.
The major rebar imports are from Turkey with price about USD 750 per tonne CFR basis.
Other steel long product imports also rose significantly. The country imported 4,696 million tonnes of H-profile, about doubled volume from previous month. The imported drill pipes for oil & gas were 2724 million tons, from 844 million tonnes in October.
