Tense Relations Between China and Japan Affects Nissan's Investment in China

CEO of Nissan Motor, Carlos Ghosn, said in Detroit auto show on Monday that Nissan will remain cautious about investment in China before China-Japan relations have been improved.

In the early days,  the three biggest Japanese automakers said anti-Japanese sentiment in China continued to affect their business. The sales have declined by 16-30%.

Ghosn said they have to consider possible future risks before making every investment decision unless both sides normalizes relations.

He said ""So far, we have decided to maintain spending. On one hand, additional investment may bring benefit after the relationship between China and Japan is clear. On the other hand, our business would be wounded by uncertainty of relationship."

He revealed it would also affect the project of making Infiniti in China.
