Taiwan-based Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) producer - Shinkong Synthetic Fibers has reduced capacity rates at its PET plant and has also planned a turnaround.
“The PET plant is currently operating at 85 percent production capacity, due to weak market economics”, a company official told fibre2fashion.
He added, “The PET plant will be shutdown for maintenance on November 31 and the restart could probably be in December or January 2013, depending on the market situation.
The plant located at Zhongli has a production capacity of 400,000 tons/year.
