German packaging firm Mauser Group plans to invest in new production lines at its facility in St Priest to meet the increasing demand for industrial packaging solutions in the Rhone Valley and the South of France.
In January 2017, the firm plans to commission a new production line for intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) and a new reconditioning unit together with its subsidiary National Container Group (NCG).
An additional production line capable of producing plastic drums with up to 220 liters filling volume is planned to be commissioned during the second half of 2017 at the site.
Mauser SBU Europe head Dr Jürgen Scherer said: “The St Priest location near Lyon will then form another of MAUSER’s multi-product plants including a reconditioning service.”
The Mauser’s St Priest plant is equipped to produce steel drums for the chemical, petrochemical, agrochemical and the food industry.
Mauser Southern Europe operations head Frédéric Binard said: “Our plant in Esches in the North of France is dedicated to plastic packaging and composite IBC.
“Mauser’s existing plant in Creil close to Paris is specialized on the production of large steel drums.
“Also in North of France, our reconditioning plant in Saint Amand les Eaux (belonging to Mauser’s subsidiary NCG) is focusing on sustainability-oriented services and allows Mauser to offer comprehensive solutions to its customers in France.”
Employing approximately 5,000 people, Mauser Group produces industrial packaging solutions for customers in the chemical, agrochemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage industries.
