Queensland-based meat producer, IMT Food Services (IMTFS) will open a new custom-built production facility in Eagle Farm, Brisbane, Australia on 6 December 2013.
The new facility, covering an area of 2,500m2, has been developed in less than a year.
The facility's production area is divided into three large zones comprising workstations. All the workstations can be measured for efficiency, output and labor utilization.
The new facility is expected to triple the company's current production capacity with a weekly production of more than 200 tonnes.
Employees from the company's original facility at Murrarie will relocate to the new facility, which can accommodate up to 90 employees.
The facility will also consist of a team of quality assurance and product development staff to ensure that the products comply by all regulatory norms.
IMTFS managing director Darren Walsh said, "It's a big move but it's one we knew we had to take if the business was going to continue growing and meeting the demands of the domestic and export meat market.
"Processing will be much faster and more efficient, but most importantly our ability to tailor client needs will be far greater," Walsh added.
