Corrugated shipping containers manufacturer Rusken Packaging has acquired Great Southern Industries.
Founded in 1962, Great Southern Industries manufactures corrugated containers in its 189,000 square foot facility located in Mississippi.
Great Southern also provides packaging and shipping materials delivered by their own fleet of trucks.
In corrugated boxes, the company provides folding cartons, trays, self-erecting boxes, die cut shapes, tubes, partitions, pads and telescope Boxes.
Rusken Packaging president & CEO Greg Rusk said: “We feel that this is an excellent fit into our culture and growth strategy in the Southeast, and we look to continue to build upon the many years of success Great Southern has enjoyed.”
Established in 1974, the family owned business operates globally by providing a range of corrugated packaging solutions.
The firm covers a major market in southern US. Based in Cullman, Alabama, Rusken’s 450,000 ft2 manufacturing facility operates a 110” BHS corrugator and around 30 converting machines.
The Alabama facility includes 12 flexo folder gluers, 4 rotary die cutters, 2 specialty gluers, automatic labelers and others.
The packaging company has its own customer service representatives and sales representatives to serve its clients and customers.
Standard brown or white corrugated packaging is available in plain, labeled and full color print models.
Earlier this year, Heflin’s Industrial Development Board has associated with Rusken Packaging to set up a satellite location in a vacant 186,000 ft2 manufacturing facility located in the north of downtown.
